“Chteau de la Chaize in Beaujolais is a very strong candidate for the most beautiful wine Chteau in France.”
James Suckling
100% Chardonnay.
Brilliant lemon-yellow in colour. On the nose aromas of lemon and pear combine with notes of white flowers and fresh green herbs, evoking the freshness and indulgence that the great clay-limestone terroirs of southern Beaujolais can express. On the palate, some notes of butter and hazelnut are evident from the malolactic fermentation and subsequent oak maturation – 7 months in foudre. The finish is broad and generous, reflecting the sunny 2022 vintage.
A delicious aperitif, or a natural accompaniment to firm fish in buttery or creamy sauces, roast chicken, sauteed mushrooms, and delicate cheeses.
