Mon Nom is the expression of the fruit and only the fruit. No oak, no makeup. Only the Merlot reveals their terroir in this wine, nothing else. Produced from a plot called “L’glise”, cold fermented to maximise the fruit expression. Mon Nom is a concentrate of Castillon at its best: freshness, elegance and character.
At Chteau Picoron, they explore the potential of the great grape that is Merlot. All grown in plots surrounding the Chteau. The wines are not blended, each is produced from a single plot of grapes, from their 4.5ha vineyard. An honest expression of terroir on the famous Saint-milion clay & limestone ridge.
The wines are made following the Ouvipo philosophy (Ouvroir de Vins Potentiels). Made honouring natural and self-imposed constraints. The constraints of their region, Bordeaux, its varietals and the changing climate are the catalyst for the creation.
