“45% Malbec, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot. Vinified in cement tanks between 29 and 32 C with ‘many daily pumpovers’. No filtration, no pre-fermentative cold maceration, no correction of the natural acidity of the grapes, no bleeding during fermentation maceration, and no enzymes of any kind are added during vinification. Each variety is fermented independently, and as soon as the fermentations are finished, the final blend is made to be sent to the barrel as a blended wine. 15 months in French oak barrels, 50% new barrels and 50% second-use barrels. Powerful, intense, concentrated. The sumptuously glossy ripeness of the fruit barricades the grandiose tannins to the back of the chorus line. Plenty of acidity, but it is in balance and it is integrated. Iris and orris root, liquorice and blueberry. A bit of a stallion. Drink 2024 – 2035”
