Recently, OBriens Wine Director, Lynne Coyle Master of Wine was joined by Jean-Charles Cazes, owner of Chteau Lynch-Bages for the third event in our special Irish Wine Geese series.

The original Irish Wine Geese were the men and women who fled Ireland for the continent in the 17th and 18th centuries, going on to establish some of the best-known wineries in Bordeaux. Since then, further generations of Irish migrs have put down wine roots all over the world to become the modern Irish Wine Geese.

Chteau Lynch-Bages is one of the most iconic estates in Bordeaux, with a winemaking history dating back to the 17th century. It gets its name from Thomas Lynch, whose father emigrated from Galway in 1691 and today, the estate is owned by the Cazes family.
