The Foreign Affair Winery Whisky Barreled Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

The Foreign Affair winemaker and Hiram Walker’s Master Distiller had a friendly drink together. They swapped ideas for two incredible hand-crafted beverages, then swapped barrels.

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Cabernet Franc from Niagara, Canada.

Taste Profile:On the nose, aromas of rich caramel and smoky oak support notes of ripe fruit such as cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. The palate has bold but elegant flavours of ripe fruit to match the nose together with silky smooth tannins, balanced acidity and subtle oak and whisky notes all very integrated.

Winemaking Process:25% Appassimento.This partial appassimento Cabernet Sauvignon to finish aging (after 12 months in French and American oak) for another 3 months in Pike Creek Whisky barrels. Adding a richness and complexity to this already bold wine.
