Employing natural-yeast fermentations, Lauers wines find their own balance. They tend to be more textural, deeper and more broad-shouldered. Yet they have a preternatural sense of balance, an energy that is singular. Yet the hallmarks of the Saar are there: purity, precision, rigor, mineral.

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling from thescheidterberg vineyard in Ayl, Saar, Germany. A premier cru plot, the vines average 32 years old, and is grown on slate soils.

Taste Profile: The southern exposure allows for late ripening, and the wine has long ageing potential. On the nose, delicate smoky spice, floral notes & salted caramel dominate.Expect a balanced aromatic Riesling with a stonefruit backbock, than it fresh & inviting, already in it’s youth

WInemaking Process:Hand harvest & 50% cold maceration, with wild yeast & spontaneous ferment. It sits 2 months on lees before aging in oak barrel
