Coming from Neumagen-Dhron, one of the oldest wine villages in Germany, A.J. Adam cultivates five hectares of vineyards in steep and steepest locations. These include the Dhroner Hofberg, the Dhroner Hs’chen – a site which is the sole property of the winery – and the VDP.Grosse Lage Piesporter Goldtropfchen
A tributary of the Mosel, it was famous in the 1950s & 60s, before a generation of Moslaners left their birthrights and many famous but small vineyards were left untended and became relics of the past.
Andreas Adam restarted the family estate in 2000, Andreas Adam is almost single-handedly responsible for bringing the Dhroner Hofberg back to its former status as one of the great Grand Crus of the Mosel
Grape Varietals & Region:100% Riesling from AJ Adam’s monopole vineyard Dhroner Hschen. Classified VDP.Grosses Lage, the vines are ungrafted from 1930, grown on devonia slate with quarzite soils.
Hschen is an east located vineyard directly on the Mosel river with 5 terraces, where theyproduce dry GG wines and a fruity Kabinett. Grapes for the Kabinett were harvested fromthe lowest terrace where we have a better water supply in the ground what generatesbigger clusters and a higher amount of clusters per vine what is perfect for the fruityKabinett style we like. Of course, everything is picked by hand. The vinification took placein a stainless steel tank with spontaneous fermentation
Taste Profile: On the nose, a fragrant, aromatic bouquet with lots of ripe citrus, lots of orange, candied citrus, candied tropical fruit. Ripe, full aromas, but to the point, not a trace of overripe or hot. Completely open at the moment, yet very fine and delicate, silky drinkability, endlessly delicious, delicate, perfectly dosed residual sweetness and a fine but penetrating piquancy on the finish. Totally harmonious, so open and accessible at the moment, a wonderful Kabinett with an addictive factor!
Winemaking Process:The vinification took place in a stainless steel tank with spontaneous fermentation, and the maturation is completed in the tank as well on lees
