Employing natural-yeast fermentations, Lauers wines find their own balance. They tend to be more textural, deeper and more broad-shouldered. Yet they have a preternatural sense of balance, an energy that is singular. Yet the hallmarks of the Saar are there: purity, precision, rigor, mineral.

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Riesling, made with fruit from the central part of the original Kupp hill vineyard in Mosel, Germany.With an impressive age of 65 years, the vines have found their balance.

Taste Profile:Shy at first it unwinds slowly showing subtle hints of smoke, roasted spices, baking spices, grapefruit, and greengage. Sublime presence, intensity and finesse in the glass the sharp and energetic palate carries salinity and spice through a very long, dry finish. Smoke, herbs, and lime swirl in the aftermath.
