William Downie is a bonafide star of the Gippsland wine movement, having garnered his expertise from Burgundy and Australian icons like Bass Phillips and De Bortoli.

Grape Varietals & Region:A Pinot from Gippsland in Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. It marries fruit from Upper Goulburn, King Valley, Alpine Valleys, and Mornington Peninsula

Taste Profile: Not too much of anything, just a balance of cherry fruit and pips, chinotto, wood spices and woodsmoke, a little autumnal too. Lovely perfume. Mid-weighted at best, the tannins supple, the acidity cleansing, and theres good texture

Winemaking Process: The grapes were left to ferment with little
intervention and after three weeks of maceration, the wine was pressed to tank where it remainedfor malolactic fermentation and maturation.
