12 Volts is the flagship wine of 4 Kilos, a very exciting organic winery from Mallorca, the Balearic island. It’s made from a combination of varieties, some indigenous (Callet and Fogoneu amount to 60% of the blend) and some Bordeaux, and also amalgamates a Mediterranean character, the Mallorquin element, aromas of aromatic plants (oregano), with the Atlantic, showing its moist undertone of damp earth. Expect dark berries & forest fruits, an earthy backbone with a touch of leather giving plenty of savoury depth. A crisp minerality keeps this wine fresh & bright. Great to drink by itself or with rustic meat dishes.
