Bright and fresh, the 2023 vintage has returned to a lighter hue after the more orange-leaning 2022 thanks to lots of pre-harvest rain. The process is the same, varieties macerated between 12 hours to two days, fermentation partly in steel, part in old barrels, assembled shortly before bottling in April 2024.
Daniel and Jonas Brand took over the family winery from their father Jrgen in 2014 with his support they expanded from 12 to 18ha and transitioned production to fully organic and natural.
Natural wine always begins with good farming practices, and these brothers are super geeks when it comes to soil and regenerative agriculture. From adding tea and other plant products to the soil to strengthen the vines to growing clover and wild herbs to attract insects and bees, these two brothers do all the right things.
Always, hand harvested, naturally fermented, unfiltered and minimal sulphur is used.
