Grape varietal & region: Avibrant and elegant wine from the cool climate region of Elgin in South Africa. The grapes are grown on the clay-heavy soils of the vineyard, which impart a unique minerality and depth to the wine.
Taste profile:The nose is full of red fruit aromas, including cherries and raspberries, with a hint of smokiness and spice. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced with silky tannins and a long, satisfying finish.
Winemkaing process:The grapes were hand-picked and sorted before undergoing a cold maceration for five days. Fermentation took place in small batches with wild yeast, with manual punch-downs and pump-overs to ensure maximum extraction of flavor and color. The wine was then aged in 100% French oak barrels for 11 months, of which 20% were new barrels.
