This wine takes its name from the Latin phrase From the Sand, a tribute to the sandy soil where the vines grow. The soil is composed of ancient sea sediments and alluvial deposits that provide excellent drainage and low-vigour vines. The result is a small crop of grapes with intense and complex flavours. This wine showcases the best of Grenache, with expressive aromas of ripe fruit and sweet spices, reminiscent of a Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The palate is smooth and round, with a fresh and spicy edge and soft tannins. This wine is a rare gem among Grenache wines.
