Florent Bourgeois passionately upholds his family’s winemaking legacy at Domaine Grard Fiou. He meticulously tends to the vineyard and winery, crafting wines that exemplify the estate’s commitment to high standards and precision.

Since 2013, Florent has managed Domaine Grard Fiou, drawing on his family heritage, background, and global winemaking experiences to create expressive and exceptional terroir wines, renowned among Sancerre’s finest. The Domaine, spanning 9.8 hectares, is planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Situated on a flinty hillside with clay-siliceous soil in Saint-Satur, near the Loire River and the peak of Sancerre, this estate benefits from the rare and distinctive flint terroir, making up 20% of Sancerre’s terroirs, alongside “terres blanches” (40%) and “caillottes” (40%)

Menetou-Salon is a little less well-known than its iconic neighboring appellation, Sancerre. However, the wines from Menetou-Salon have a fruitier character and are therefore more accessible than Sancerre

Taste Profile: Notes of boxwood, peach, freshly cut grass and minerals, which are woven together by a wonderfully tight and dry structure with high, refreshing acidity and a long and clean finish.

Winemaking Process:The wine is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, which grows on limestone and clay soils. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, after which the wine undergoes a few months of ‘sur lie’ maturation.
