The Kahlenberg’s neighbouring vineyard. The warm loess loam of the Krotenpfuhl is rich in small pebbles (quartzite) and these, along with the fact that these south-facing vines, casuse the soil to warm up very quickly. The grapes ripen early and retain a fiesty acidity. These produce, particularly fine, fruity vivacious Riesling wines.
