Since the Ruhlmanns first planted grapes in 1688 under the watchful eye of a Hungarian Knight, they have been perfecting the art of making riesling. This Granit S riesling not surprisingly given its name, was grown on perfect granite soil on the roving hills of Alsace under cool nights and warm sunny days, a terroir which produces something super special.

After the first pour, the aroma is dominated by lemon and lime, but you quickly pick up some stone fruit as well. In the mouth, more citrus attack but this incredible minerality only Euro wines seem to be able to produce on some special occasions. The Ruhlmann family put it down to the specificity of the granite soil. And the sea water that used to cover these granite soils hundreds of millenniums ago before the land began being cultivated for wine around 150 AD.

So, what sets this wine apart from the rest is its granite rich soil and just to remind you, it comes in a beautiful clear white bottle. You can almost taste the history in each sip.
