Grape Varietals & Region:100% Pinot Noir from Tamar Valley in Tasmania, Australia. The vines also grow on two different types of soil with clear differences, which contributes to an interesting depth in the wine. The vineyards were planted in 1998 and the vines can now be called old
Taste Profile: The wine has a medium-deep red color and there are nuances of fresh red berries, such as raspberries, strawberries and currants. A slight spiciness and hints of barrel contribute to a nice framing of the young fruitiness. Serve the wine chilled in large goblets.
Winemaking Process:The wine has a lovely acidity and finely tuned fruit. The grapes were hand-harvested and most of the bunches were pressed, 25 percent whole bunches were used. Fermentation took place with the help of the natural yeast and the wine was allowed to mature in French oak barrels, of which 10% were new for ten months.
