It’s got more in common with, say Cru Beaujolais, Jura rouge or something Cabernet Franc-like out of the Loire Valley than a classic Rhone red

Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Carignan from Sawrtland, South Africa. Vines grow on decomposed granite with a north-facing exposure at 220m above sea level

Taste Profile:Elegant bright red with aromas of crushed berries & flowers. The mouth reveals notes of sour cherry and strawberry. This wine is full of aromatic red fruits (raspberry, morello cherry, tart pomegranate), sweet violets and herbal notes. It has a lively acidity but then evolves towards sweeter floral notes of violet and a lingering finish

Winemaking Process:Hand harvested and 100% whole bunch fermented. The wine does not go through carbonic maceration but rather, is crushed before going into tank for 8 days of fermentation and then pressed off into two old 3500L Foudre.

No yeast (or other) inoculation or additives were added before bottling. 100% malolactic fermentation. Light clarifying filtration and bottled unfined
