Thorne & Daughters is widely acknowledged as one of the forerunners of the New Wave wine movement in South Africa. Since 2013, John and Tasha Thorne-Seccombe have been producing innovative wines sourced from selected growers across the Western Cape.

The Tin Soldier is deep copper in colour due to the partial skin fermentation. On the nose intense aromas of lime peel, orange blossom and tomato leaf combine with notes of marzipan and ginger. The interplay between sweet and savoury aromas makes for a subtle and engaging wine. The palate is finely structured, with fresh acidity and full flavours of citrus, toffee apple and sesame seeds. It is dry and delicate, while at the same time showing a core of richness and depth.
