Tomas Artesanal Mezcal Reserva is a unique blend that is said to be Abocado con madera because we carefully combine mezcals, one of which is aged in oak barrels for one year. We took this distinctive approach to blending mezcal because we found that specific to mezcal, the wood elements in reposados and aejos often over power the flavors and qualities that make agave spirits special and unique. Abocado con madera means that our mezcal is lightly touched with wood, resulting in a remarkably unique flavor profile.

And so it was, that a certain Toms traveled to Mexico and met a girl from Sonora way, with roots far south in Michoacn. She regaled him with stories of Mexico and her familys history with Mezcal. Respect the spirit, the ancestors say. Not just the spirit in the bottle, but the spirit of Mexico and Mezcal. Its a simple love story really, that inspired the creation of Tomas Artesanal. Today, the couple works with local mezcaleros to create unique artisan agave spirits.
