Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli Blanc 2024

With vineyard plantings since 1649, Txomin Etxaniz wines are typical of the fiercely Baque “Txakolina Getariako” style wines. The Txueka Etxaniz family played an integral role in the modernisation, recognition & creation of the DO Getariako Txakolina in 1989

At the heart of the winery are the native Hondarrabi varietals, which the family strive to maintain. Txomin Etxaniz has 35 hectares of protected, sloped vineyards planted to the two native grapes, the white Hondarrabi Zuri (90%) and red Hondarrabi Beltza (10%).

Grape Varietals & Region:A blend of 50% Hondarrabi Beltza, 50% Hondarrabi Zuri from the Basque Country, Spain. Txomin is one of the most prevalent winemakers in the Basque Country, they were one of the major drivers of setting up the DOs within Pais Vasco

Taste Profile:An alluring greenish-yellow hue and a subtle effervescence that invigorates the senses. As one draws it closer to the nose, an array of fresh aromas unfurl, reminiscent of freshly sliced apples and a hint of citrus, complemented by a delicate mineral veil. On the palate, this young white wine dazzles with its light acidity and a lively bubbling sensation, delivering a crispness that renders it particularly appealing and effortlessly enjoyable.

Winemaking Process: The grapes are grown in vineyards located along the rugged coastline of the Bay of Biscay and are hand harvested to ensure the highest quality fruit. After being gently pressed, the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts to preserve the unique character of the wine.
