Grape Varietals & Region: The Amarone “XIX” (19 in ancient Roman) has been crafted with the best selection of grapes coming from the ‘nineteen Comuni’, the villages of the Valpolicella DOC area are exclusively allowed to produce this iconic wine.Vineyards are south-facing, on a steep-sloped limestone hillside in the Fumane Valley. They benefit from a warm microclimate, which is illustrated by the olive trees surrounding it. The vines are trained on pergola trellises
Taste Profile:Villalta Amarone Della Valpolicella is a blend of the Venetos traditional grape varities like Corvina and Rondinella. This bouquet has a deep red colour with rich, full and well-rounded palate. Truly a harmonic and elegant expression of the iconic wine. It has an intense aroma of classic black cherry, with a long and complex finish, leaving you wanting more. This bottle represents every vintage and the most traditional expression of Amarone, inspired by the terroir itself.
Winemaking Process: The grapes were hand-harvested in October. The individual bunches are laid one by one onto tiered mats in airy lofts, where they are dried for four months until they lose at least 30% of their original weight. In February, the dried condensed grapes are softly pressed and cold macerated. It is then aged for 2 years in Slavonian oak barrels.
