Wagner-Stempel is a family-run estate in the Rheinhessen region. Led by Daniel Wagner who has transformed it into one of Germanys leading producers of dry Riesling. The estate is farmed organically with a strong focus on biodiversity and soil health. The grapes for the Hollberg Riesling come from the steep, limestone-rich and volcanic soils of vineyards in Siefersheim, where the excellent sun exposure during the day and cooler nights produce wines of remarkable precision and minerality.
The Hollberg Riesling was hand-harvested and fermented slowly with native yeasts before maturing on its lees in stainless steel and large oak casks for several months to enhance depth and texture. The wine shows citrus, stone fruit and herbal notes, with a smoky minerality and crisp acidity. Try with oysters, grilled fish, poultry, or fresh goats cheese.
