WhistlePigs vanguard of finishing lies within our Old World Rye, Aged 12 Years. A Rye styled by Old World sensibilities at 86-proof. This whiskey is the marriage of three finishes, each with their own distinctive flavor profiles. After maturing for 12 years in New American Oak, the spirit is divvied into one of three barrels Madeira (63%), Sauternes (30%) and Port (7%). Finished to perfection and blended into a symphony of flavor. It started as a grand experiment and ended as the first Rye whiskey of its kind, giving you Rye in all its glory.. and then some. Just like a fine wine, our Old World Ryes rich fruit and spice notes are great with an epic meal.

OUR START
THE CHANCE DISCOVERY
WhistlePig began when we purchased our farm in 2007. After a few years of deep consideration and personal reflection we committed ourselves to crafting the worlds finest and most interesting Rye Whiskeys. With help from Master Distiller Dave Pickerell, we discovered and purchased an incredible stock of 10 year old blending Whiskey in Canada that was being profoundly misused. That initial stock, for which we are forever grateful, is what kicked off our grand adventure.

Have we learned anything since then that can make this better?
Is there another way to do this thats worth exploring?
More often than not the answer is theres always something worth exploring. We know the path forward isnt always a straight line. So we push ourselves to innovate and were reassured by our mistakes. Theyre what keep us great.
