Recently, OBriens Wine Director, Lynne Coyle Master of Wine was joined by Daragh Quinn, Director of Chteau de Fieuzal for the first event in our special Irish Wine Geese series.
The original Irish Wine Geese were the men and women who fled Ireland for the continent in the 17th and 18th centuries, going on to establish some of the best-known wineries in Bordeaux. Since then, further generations of Irish migrs have put down wine roots all over the world to become the modern Irish Wine Geese.
Chteau de Fieuzal is one of the jewels of Pessac-Lognan in the Graves region of Bordeaux. Now owned by Irish businessman Lochlann Quinn, its wines are amongst the most esteemed in the region. Our tasting featured Chteau de Fieuzal 2020 and LAbeillle de Fieuzal 2019 and Daragh offered a fascinating insight into the wines and the story behind this wonderful estate.
